What is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), aka (The non-surgical face-lift), has become a very popular cosmetic procedure amongst celebrities seeking to treat a variety of aging conditions,  PRP treatments are designed to boost collagen production to provide younger-looking, rejuvenated skin by diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. Commonly treated areas are the face, chest and hands.  It is also used to reduce acne scarring and is commonly being used to promote hair re-growth in men and women. These results are accomplished by the production of collagen and growth factors from the patient’s own platelets. Platelets contain growth factors which are released to accelerate the body’s healing process by promoting the production of new collagen and elastin.

What Is It Used For?
  • To achieve younger-looking, rejuvenated skin
  • Diminish wrinkles and fine lines
  • Minimize acne and acne scars
  • Even skin tone
  • Increase facial plumpness
  • Hair re-growth
  • And more!
Procedure
This in-office procedure involves retrieving a small amount of blood from your arm, then through a process, the platelet-rich portion of your blood is extracted.  A topical aesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area for 15-20 minutes to minimize discomfort. A micro-needling gun is used to penetrate the skin to create thousands of small channels to allow access for the platelets to enter your skin. The platelets are then applied to the treatment areas.
Recovery

Recovery is minimal, making this the perfect treatment for those who want to rejuvenate their skin or re-grow hair effectively without surgery or significant downtown. Exercise may be resumed the following day after treatment or as advised by your provider.

Frequency & Results
PRP treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks with a minimum of 3-8 treatments for optimal results.  Many people notice improvement after just a single session.  Typically, full collagen production is achieved 8-12 weeks after the series is completed.  It is recommended to have a single treatment done every 6-12 months as it does not stop the aging process.  If you also receive Botox®, it is best to schedule PRP treatments at least 2 weeks after your Botox® treatment to enhance the healing of the wrinkle lines.
