Baseline labs matter for two reasons. They tell us whether treatment is appropriate for you at all, and they give us something to measure against later. Without a starting IGF-1 there is no way to judge whether anything has changed.
How It Is Given
Sermorelin is a subcutaneous injection, dosed Monday through Friday with weekends off. Patients administer it at home after instruction. The weekday schedule is deliberate — it follows how the pituitary responds rather than dosing continuously.
This is not a one-visit treatment. It requires consistency over months, follow-up, and repeat labs to see whether it is doing anything worth continuing.
Who Should Not Take It
Sermorelin has relatively few contraindications, but the ones that exist are firm:
- Active malignancy. Anything that increases growth signaling is not appropriate in the presence of active cancer.
- Pregnancy, planned pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
- Known allergy to sermorelin or any component of the preparation.
