Glutathione Injections in Corona, CA
Glutathione is your body’s main internal antioxidant. It’s built from three amino acids, made in every cell and produced by the liver, and its job is to neutralize the reactive molecules that come from normal metabolism. It also does a lot of the work in how the liver clears things.
Production falls with age, and it gets used up faster under metabolic stress — high blood sugar, extra weight, chronic inflammation, illness.
We can measure it — or you can just try it
If you want a number to work from, we check hs-CRP, a blood test for low-grade inflammation. It’s part of what we look at in wellness and hormone optimization anyway, and when we have it we dose off it and recheck.
If you’d rather just try glutathione and see how you feel, that’s fine too. Plenty of patients come in that way.
What treatment looks like
Glutathione is given as an intramuscular injection, 200 to 300 mg per dose, one to three times weekly — up to 1200 mg a week at full frequency.
Frequent smaller doses are the point, not a compromise. Glutathione clears quickly once it’s in circulation, so several injections a week keep levels up in a way a single large dose doesn’t. We build you to the frequency that fits what you’re treating and how you respond.
Where we have labs, we use them to guide the dose and to decide whether to keep going. Where we don’t, we go by how you’re doing — and if you’re not noticing anything, we’ll say so rather than keep selling you injections.
What glutathione may help with
Patients receiving glutathione may see benefit in immune function, energy, and skin and eye health. It may also help with symptoms of conditions where oxidative stress plays a role — including liver disease, diabetes, and heart disease.
What about skin brightening?
Patients ask, so here’s the answer.
Glutathione affects the pathway that produces melanin, which is why it’s marketed overseas as a brightening injection. We prescribe it for antioxidant and inflammatory reasons, not as a cosmetic treatment. If skin tone is your goal, come talk to us — we offer treatments that are actually indicated for pigmentation.
Who shouldn’t have it
Not for anyone pregnant, breastfeeding, or who has reacted to glutathione before.
Tell us about active cancer or current cancer treatment, asthma, and any significant kidney or liver disease — those need a conversation first. Bring a full list of your medications and supplements.
Side effects
Usually just the injection site — soreness or a small bruise. Some people get mild nausea or a headache.
Seek emergency care for trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or widespread hives. Call us about anything that lingers.
Coming in
Start with a consultation. We’ll go over what’s going on, whether labs would be useful for you, and whether glutathione is a reasonable thing to try.
Glutathione injection is a compounded medication, prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy and not FDA-approved. You’ll sign a consent covering that before your first dose.
