Sculptra For The Face

Sculptra in Corona, CA

Sculptra® does not fill. It stimulates your own collagen.

That distinction is the whole point, and it is why Sculptra suits some patients far better than filler while frustrating others. There is no instant result. What happens instead is that poly-L-lactic acid — the same material used in dissolvable surgical sutures for decades — prompts your body to rebuild collagen over the following months. The change is gradual enough that people tend to notice you look well rather than notice you have had something done.

If you want volume today, dermal filler is the better choice. If you are willing to wait for something that looks like your own face, this is.

We have been injecting in Corona since 2011, and your treatment is performed by a nurse practitioner.

How It Differs From Filler

  • Result appears gradually over roughly three to six months, not immediately
  • It builds your own tissue rather than adding a gel
  • It lasts longer — commonly up to two years or more
  • It is not reversible. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved. Sculptra cannot, because what you end up with is your own collagen
  • It treats broad areas and overall facial hollowing better than it sculpts a single feature

That irreversibility is worth sitting with before you commit. It is not a reason to avoid Sculptra — it is a reason to have it placed by someone who does it regularly.

Where We Use It on the Face

  • Temples
  • Cheeks and midface
  • Nasolabial folds — the lines between nose and mouth
  • Marionette lines framing the mouth
  • General facial hollowing from age or weight loss

Sculptra® Aesthetic is FDA-approved for the correction of facial fat loss and for nasolabial folds and other facial wrinkles.

We also use Sculptra for buttock contouring — see Sculptra butt lift.

What to Expect

Two sessions

We typically treat over two visits spaced about a month apart. The number of vials depends on how much volume has been lost.

The appointment

Around forty-five minutes. Topical numbing is used, and the product is mixed with lidocaine.

The first few days

You may look fuller immediately — that is the fluid the product is mixed with, and it resolves within a day or two. Do not judge anything by it. Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common and settle within a week.

Massage

You will need to massage the treated area at home for several days after each session. We will show you how. It matters, and skipping it is the most common reason people develop small firm areas under the skin.

The real timeline

Collagen builds over three to six months. Most people start noticing at around six to eight weeks. Take a photo before you start, because gradual change is genuinely hard to see in the mirror.

How long it lasts

Commonly up to two years or more once the full result develops.

If You Have Lost Weight

Significant weight loss takes fat from the face along with everywhere else — the cheeks and temples first. Patients reach a weight they are happy with and find they look drawn or older than they did before.

Sculptra suits this well, because what has been lost is broad volume rather than a single feature, and rebuilding it gradually tends to look more natural than replacing it all at once.

One caveat we will raise with you: if you are still actively losing, it is usually worth waiting until your weight has stabilised. Building collagen into a face that is still changing means chasing a moving target.

Because we manage medical weight loss and aesthetics under the same roof, we can help you judge the timing rather than just sell you the treatment.

Safety

Sculptra® is a prescription injectable and should only be administered by a trained, licensed provider.

Common effects include swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness and itching at the injection site. The effect specific to this product is the formation of small bumps or nodules under the skin, sometimes months later. Correct injection technique and doing the massage as instructed substantially reduce that risk.

Sculptra is not appropriate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active infection or inflammation at the treatment site, have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, or have a known allergy to any component of the product.

Individual results vary, and the number of sessions needed differs between patients. This page is general information and is not a substitute for a consultation.

What It Costs

Sculptra is priced per vial, and how many vials you need depends on the degree of volume loss. Treatment is usually done across two sessions.

We offer a free aesthetic consultation so you get a real number and a realistic timeline before you commit to anything.
